Meet My Menu Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

Meet My Menu is a voice-first restaurant-menu service for blind and low-vision diners. This policy applies to our website, web app, iOS app, and services that link to it.

Information We Collect

We collect information you choose to provide, including your name and email address when you sign in, dietary preferences and allergies, saved restaurants and menus, menu text or images, and questions or commands you type or speak. If you use Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive the account information that provider shares for sign-in, such as a verified email address and, when available, your name. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.

We also collect limited service and diagnostic information, including session identifiers, screens and features used, actions and outcomes, app version, browser or device user-agent information, and technical errors. Restaurant locations or other location information that you choose to enter, scan, search for, or save may be stored with that restaurant. Meet My Menu does not continuously track your location.

Camera, Photos, Voice, and Local Storage

The app accesses your camera or microphone only after you actively start a feature that needs it. Menu images, typed questions, transcribed speech, and response text may be sent to service providers to provide menu analysis, conversation, transcription, or spoken responses. We do not intentionally keep permanent microphone recordings. Your profile and saved restaurants are stored on your device first. Cloud sync is available only after Google or Apple sign-in; email-only use remains local to the device.

Menu-photo storage is off by default. If you turn on the Save menu photos setting, we may store those photos with your account so they can be used for analysis and troubleshooting. Stored photo links may be publicly accessible to anyone who has the link, so do not enable this setting for images containing personal information. Turning the setting off stops future intentional photo storage. It does not delete photos already stored; contact us to request deletion.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and improve accessible menu reading, answer menu questions, personalize guidance using the preferences you provide, save and sync app data when enabled, authenticate users, generate and transcribe speech, troubleshoot problems, maintain security and reliability, and respond to support or privacy requests. We do not sell personal information, run targeted advertising, or create advertising profiles from your information.

Service Providers and Sharing

We share information only as needed to operate the service. OpenAI may process menu images and text, questions, conversation content, and audio for analysis, transcription, or response generation. Cartesia may process response text and audio for text-to-speech or speech-to-text features when enabled. Google and Apple process their respective sign-in flows. Vercel provides hosting, database, key-value storage, and optional photo storage used by the app. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or asset sale.

Tracking and Third Parties

Meet My Menu does not use third-party advertising trackers or permit third parties to collect information through the service for cross-site behavioral advertising. Because we do not conduct that type of tracking, browser Do Not Track signals do not change how the service operates.

Retention, Security, and Your Choices

Local data remains on your device until you remove it, clear local data, sign out, or delete the app as applicable. Cloud-synced information may remain while your account is active. We keep usage and diagnostic information only as reasonably needed for service operation, security, troubleshooting, and improvement. On a deletion request, we will delete or de-identify cloud-stored personal information unless we need to retain it for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal obligations, or similar legitimate purposes. Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups or security logs until they expire or are overwritten.

You can change preferences, remove saved restaurants, clear local data, choose whether to save menu photos, and disable camera or microphone permissions in device settings. You may request access, correction, or deletion of cloud-stored information, including stored menu photos, by emailing contact@meetmymenu.com. We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, but no internet service is completely secure.

Children, Changes, and Contact

Meet My Menu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We may update this policy as the service changes and will revise the date above. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@meetmymenu.com.
